Start With an Objective. Engineer the Operational Design.
S2O works with organisations to establish the operational reasoning necessary to support their strategic intent. We begin with an agreed business objective, its intended benefits and the value chain processes that materially influence those benefits. From there, we engineer the required Operational Design. The approach is collaborative, evidence-led and independent of the technology ultimately selected.
1. Establish the Intent
We work with your organisation to understand the business objective, expected benefits and relevant operating context. This establishes the reference against which subsequent design decisions can be evaluated.
2. Engineer the Operational Design
We develop the causal reasoning connecting the intended benefits to the required operational behaviours, decisions, controls, tactics and measurement systems.
Existing capabilities, constraints and operating assumptions are examined as part of the engineering process. The resulting Design makes the expected operational mechanism explicit and testable.
3. Establish Deployment Readiness
The Design provides your organisation and its selected deployment team with a common operational reference. Candidate enabling capabilities can be evaluated against the Design, allowing the implementation team to progress solution-specific detailed design, configuration and deployment.
4. Preserve and Adapt the Design
The Design remains available beyond implementation. Execution evidence and realised benefits can be assessed against the original hypotheses, allowing the organisation to challenge assumptions and adapt its operating model as necessary.
